The International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (ISFNK) commemorated the 25 years since its establishment and the 130 years since his birth. ISFNK organized a commemorating event despite the difficult conditions, at the Phanar Greek Orthodox College, Istanbul.
The Chairman of the Steering Committee of ISFNK, ambassador of Hellenism, George Stasinakis, gave an extensive speech before a young audience on Kazantzakis’ ideas and thoughts, capturing the attention and interest of the students, some of whom got to know Kazantzakis’ work for the first time.
The school students were the protagonists of the event. They made a brief, but clear and concise presentation of the life and work of Nikos Kazantzakis.
The event which was open to the public, was presented in Greek and Turkish.
